Every day, there are many simple, practical things we can do in the house, when you're pottering around outdoors or if you are at work to conserve water, save money and help the environment.

Climate change and the ongoing dry conditions means the way Australians value and use water must change forever. We are in a serious situation and every person, every day, can make a huge difference by adopting simple water saving solutions.
The average family use around half their water in the bathroom, 22 per cent in the laundry, 19 per cent in the garden and eight per cent in the kitchen. Showers use the most water followed by washing machines.
The greatest water savings in the home are achieved by:
Installing water efficient shower heads;
Having shorter showers;
Using front loading washing machines; and
Only doing full loads of washing.
The garden is also a key area for reducing water use and even with water restrictions there is still lot you can do to maintain your garden.
